Why Text Therapy?

Text therapy offers a thoughtful and accessible alternative to traditional video or in-person sessions. For many people, writing creates space to slow down, reflect, and express themselves more clearly — especially during moments of anxiety, overwhelm, or emotional intensity.

Live, real-time text sessions allow clients to engage in therapy without the pressure of being seen or heard. This can be particularly helpful for individuals who experience social anxiety, sensory overload, difficulty organizing thoughts in the moment, or who simply feel more comfortable communicating in writing.

Text therapy may be a good fit if you:

  • Feel more comfortable expressing yourself through writing

  • Experience anxiety, social anxiety, or emotional overwhelm

  • Are neurodivergent or benefit from structured communication

  • Prefer a calm, contained alternative to video or phone sessions

  • Want therapy that feels flexible, discreet, and personalized

  • Unlike spoken sessions, written conversations remain accessible, so clients can reinforce insights, and reread supportive messages and coping tools whenever they need them

Text therapy is not a replacement for all forms of care, but for the right person, it can be a powerful and effective way to build insight, regulate emotions, and create meaningful change.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I provide psychotherapy through a thoughtful, structured, and client-centred approach, with a particular focus on making therapy accessible and emotionally manageable.

I have experience working across a range of mental health settings, including college mental health services and private practice, where I’ve supported adults navigating anxiety, mood concerns, ADHD, self-esteem challenges, and major life transitions, amongst other presenting concerns.

In addition to traditional therapy settings, I bring extensive experience in text-based mental health support. I have worked as a Crisis Responder with Kids Help Phone and as an Online Mental Health Support Worker at Stella’s Place, supporting individuals through written, real-time conversations during moments of distress, uncertainty, and emotional overwhelm. These roles strengthened my ability to build connection, convey empathy, and offer meaningful support through text — skills that translate naturally into synchronous text-based psychotherapy.

My work is collaborative, personalized, and paced to meet each client’s needs. I aim to create a supportive, non-judgmental space where clients can reflect, build insight, and develop practical tools to move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
